Classic Romantics

These are the resorts perfectly suited to those rom-com romantics, those who like the classic romance. Walking hand in hand down a cobbled street, movie montage kinda magic.

For those who want to sit over a candle lit dinner, tasting all the pleasure of the menu. The resorts where food and culture come first and through this you can spend quality time together. Chocolate strawberries not include but are available.

Classy Romantics

The 5* romantics, those who want fine wines, fur blankets and the truly fancy ski resort experience. We love a bit of luxury.

Freeride Lovers

Those who want to put their physical skills to the test. . . on the mountain. Being out in the back country, just the 2 of you.

Apres Lovers

Yes, the skiing has to be good but at the end of the ski day, you party animals want to dance on tables and boogie the night away.

Park Lovers

The cool cats who want to throw down their best tricks. . .  in the park. Competing against your partner who honor and who buys dinner.

Piste Lovers

The piste bunnies, those who like to explore every stretch of the piste map together, taking in all the hill has to offer.

Perfect For: The Classic Romantics

Hotel: Dolomiti Lodge Alvera Dolomiti Lodge

Restaurant: El Camineto: Il Meloncino

About Cortina

Nothing gets more romantic than Italy, Italian food and their beautiful wine and nowhere oozes this traditional Italian ambience quite like Cortina. Cortina resembles everything that is sophisticated and romantic about Italy, which is rare for mountain resorts. The architecture of the town is old and grand and very alpine chic, so just walking around the town feels like an occasion.

There isn’t a better way to spend your honeymoon, than eating at the incredible restaurants the resort prides itself on. This is not the place for intense skiing and big apres, its the destination to take a step back, take slow walks through the town and end each day with a breathtaking meal and wine.

Romantic Ridestore Recommends: An evening walk through the historical town before dinner.

Hotel: Principe Delle Neve

Restaurant: Lo Copa Pan

About Cervinia

The Aosta valley is mountain food OG resort. For a foodie, the culinary delights to be found in Cervinia or indeed any of the resorts in this valley are awesome. From breakfast in the hotels, to lunch of the mountain (we recommend Chalet Etoile for their pasta). Then finishing off the day with dinner by an open fire, with traditional meets and cheeses, a week really isn’t enough to fit in all the amazing eateries. It’s one sensational dish after another here.

Romantic Ridestore Recommends: Les Clochards Restaurent on the mountain, enjoy food prepared on the open grill and dine in this alpine perfection.

Zermatt can only be described as a picture postcard resort, with its traditional buildings and pedestrianised streets. This is the perfect destination to enjoy the swiss charm and extreme skiing all in one place. Zermatt is for the couples who would enjoy spending their honeymoon getting up early, to hit the challenging slopes all day and make the most out of their trip. But Zermatt is also for those who will take the time to soak up the awe-inspiring views of the Matterhorn, which is just blissfully romantic without even trying. When back in the village, the fun atmosphere will lead you through busy streets and into relaxed bars with live music.

St Moritz is one of the most upmarket resorts in the Alps and therefore the ultimate honeymoon destination where you can splash out and treat yourselves after all the hard work of the wedding. The resort oozes wealth, glamour and sophistication which means fancy restaurants, glitzy nightclubs and 5-star service. Just because you are in a ski resort, which are usually relaxed affairs, in St Moritz, you can take your suits and your dresses as some of the restaurants have a dress code.

In St Moritz, you don’t have to work too hard on the slopes but instead, take long champagne-fuelled lunches on the mountain whilst taking in the sparkling white peaks and the crisp blue skies.

Romantic Ridestore Recommends:  Visit the springs and spas dotted all over town!

About Saas Fee

Saas Fee is another fancy and glitzy resort in Switzerland with upmarket restaurants, hotels and bars. Like a lot of the Swiss resorts, you are charmed by the traditional buildings, the Swiss efficiency and the chic vibe, which is a master combination for a successful honeymoon trip. If you are avid skiers you may find the resort extent rather limited, but the resort has plenty of other sights and activities to keep you busy. Whilst on the mountain you can enjoy couples activities such as viewing the ice sculptures in the glacier, ice-skating and dining at the 360-degree rotating mountain restaurant.

The photo ops in Grindelwald are a key selling point, your instagram will be littered with jealous singles when they see you dead cheesy but absolutely cute as heck pics from the many view points.

Perfect For: The Freeride Lovers

HotelSki Lodge Engelberg

Restaurant: Al Monastero

About Engelberg-Titlis

Engelberg-Titlis is the first name in freeride adventure. It’s still very deserving on a mention in this article as the atmosphere here is the ideal cocktail of freeride terrain mixed with a glorious town that is awash in inspiration and like minded people, if you love to freeride. It’s a mountain full of adventure and the possibilities for both slack country and back country are endless.

Romantic Ridestore Recommends: Tobogganing or sledging instead of traditional apres ski!

Photo credit to Verbier Facebook Page

Perfect For: The Freeride Lovers

Hotel: W Verbier

Restaurant: Restaurant Le Caveau

About Verbier

Verbier is a spot! It’s where luxury skiing (The bars, restaurants, hotels/club scene) meets freeride extremism. The town is populated with 3 groups, those wanting to flash the cash, those wanting to ride first to last lift, and those who booked Verbier on accident! For those who love to ride, if you are willing to go “off the beaten track” or even work for your run, ie hiking, touring, you will be rewarded. You will have to fight for fresh tracks but if you and your bae will put in the effort, you might just get them!

Morzine Avoriaz Page Officielle
Photo credit to Morzine Avoriaz Page Officielle Facebook Page

Perfect For: The Apres Lovers

HotelLe Samoyède

About Morzine

If we are keeping this classy, we would say “From the summit of Chamossière you can make out Lake Geneva to the north, Mont Blanc to the south, and the Swiss border just a short distance away – a quick glance around and straight away you can situate Morzine, a little town tucked away in the Alps, nestling between the mountains and forests. Here you will find the pleasant leisurely lifestyle and authentic charm of a village which has retained all its typical Savoyard character.”- Morzine resort. But aside from what Morzine has to offer from a sophisticated point of view, after a great day skiing (the skiing is epic across the whole valley) you can finish the day off in pubs, bars, on the mountain, in the town- wherever really. Morzine is where its at for a great party.

Romantic Ridestore Recommends: Why not try heliskiing!
